Another tip on how to breed dogs is to ensure that the dogs are of breeding age.You should wait until the dam is at least 1 1/2 years old since she would be fully matured then and would be able deal with the pressure and stress of carrying and birthing pups. You should also make sure that your dam is taken to see a vet to be checked to ensure that she is healthy and free of any infections or parasites, when deciding how to breed dogs. Also make sure she has been given all her shots at least 2 weeks before breeding.

Once your dam is in heat, leave the stud with her for a day or two, giving them enough time to breed. Once you are certain that the dam has been bred you can remove the stud or send him back to his owner. A vet should be consulted for any necessary vitamins the dam may require during and after her pregnancy.
